FACTURA DESIGNARE: Rachel Entwisle

Alchemical is the name of Rachel Entwisle's latest jewelry collection, whose background in sustainable jewelry design and culture studies have found a happy balance.

Though her previous collections have drawn inspiration from symbolism and mysticism, this collection focuses more specifically on the ancient practice of alchemy, which dates back to 5000 BC and remains highly prevalent in practicing witchcraft. Entwistle's collection features a range of symbolic figures such as the ouroboros snake, the tria prima (elemental symbols), and zodiac signs. Midi rings, oversized, rotating pendents, and large metal cuffs are a strong medium for the designer, as well as the incorporation of antique silver, black rhodium, yellow gold, and bronze metals.

What I love most about Entwistle's work is their historical and spiritual integrity, without which might not allow her to create such timeless pieces. Her basic choice of metals and stones makes each piece transformational in its own right. We see no reason why these items would not pair fittingly with a t-shirt and jeans or an evening gown.
